Strike’s teenager like plans to express himself are pitiful but he has never tried to win a woman’s heart before. Even after initiating a conversation with Charlotte she takes over. Otherwise the women have initiated the process. I love how he shows real love and maturity on Sark when he acts like a true friend. When push comes to shove he is a good man. A proper man. And remember when getting her at Chapman Farm, he did not prey on her vulnerability. True love.

I will be honest - the water bottle drinking after the gym on Strike's birthday made me suspicious. So, while I was a little surprised, I wasn't shocked that Murphy began drinking again. The thing about addiction is that you must have an alternative to deal with stress lined up.

I also think we are seeing Strike drink more (and alone) as a contrast to how Murphy is behaving while drinking VS Strike. Strike has the awareness to tell Kim to FO while over imbibing VS Murphy lashing out at Robin. The contrast of someone that has an addiction vs not.

Robin grew up being the "good girl" and the one that just got along and placating others. I think it's why she puts up with Kim for so long - and though we see some signs of her speaking up for herself as the series progresses, like Murphy, in times of stress, we revert to old coping mechanisms. Not speaking up is actually part of the Fight/Flight/Freeze response mammals have to survive / get along.

But, Lord help us all, she is so ignoring her own red flags where Murphy is concerned as evidenced by the text conversation while she is on Sark. And the follow up to finding out Murphy is drinking is staying and feeling responsible for his sobriety....

Robin seems to take two steps forward and one to four steps back in her maturity. Again, in times of stress (post Chapman Farm / post the gorilla in her palm) is to revert back to who she WAS in the past...

I was so glad to see Kim go. I have ZERO doubt the ex killed himself - but her reaction shows how narcissistic she really is. She doesn't care beyond how it affects HER.
